New Moon in Cancer : Self Care Requires Discipline

The New Moon in Cancer arrives on 18 July at 4.31 am AEST.

Cancer represents the feminine, the mother, intuition, emotions, the memories that are embedded through our emotional connections, and our inherent to feel safe and protected.

The crab's shell and pincers arm it against threats, but at what cost? If you never let anyone in, you will miss out on the sweetness of intimacy and depth of relationships that only come from exposing your vulnerabilities. If you keep you retreat at the first hint of discord, put your defences up, or are quick to assume a threat and go on the attack, you will never give or have the opportunity to clarify the misunderstandings, establish/re-establish boundaries, and miss out on the safety of a container where all parts of you are loved and accepted and the healing that comes from that.

With this lunation, the Sun and the Moon in Cancer are squaring the Lunar Nodes which have just entered the Aries/Libra axis, marking a new cycle of karmic shifts in the area of your chart containing Aries and Libra (if you're not sure, download my free PDF on rising signs here to find out what this means for you).

The Sun and Moon are also opposing Pluto in Capricorn which is also making a square to the nodes, forming a Cardinal Grand Cross. This an show up as alot of spark, initiation, drive, get up and go! Ideas! Creativity! Let's make it happen!! To the point where it might feel like 800 projects that you want to get off the ground TODAY! My best advice is to pick the one that feels the most inspiring and see it through because one project that's completed trumps 800 half baked-ideas. The discipline that is required to do that is challenging, but this is karmic, and the one thing could be a complete game changer.

There is also something in here about how you take care of yourself - Cancer is the sign for nurturing and taking care of people and pets, but what do you need to take care of yourself? And if you struggle to put yourself first, why is that? What does the distraction of worrying about everyone else help you to avoid feeling or thinking about? What areas of your own life do you neglect or are afraid to go? Self care isn't always doing the easy thing or what feels good. It's having the discipline to Do The Work and make choices for your long-term growth that aren't necessarily comfortable, while being kind and compassionate to yourself and where you're at.

That got deep, but Pluto doesn't fuck around!
